Business transformation - Network Infrastructure

Problem

A telecom operator in the Nordics was looking for transformational opportunities when acquired by a private equity consortia. The network infrastructure was ripe for an upgrade to the next generation technology, but the new owners wanted to change the business model aiming for significant savings beyond good product pricing.

Solution

A proposition was defined that included a managed services solution in combination with a single source next generation technology strategy to maximise commercial benefits for the client. The agreement should be based on a output-driven setup that incentivised  the supplier to focus on delivering successful network KPI’s.

Result

It was an industry first complete network outsourcing deal for a former state owned telecom operator involving transfer of 220 employees and off-shoring of the network operation center (NOC). The transfer of network responsibility to a network vendor required a complete transformation of work processes and responsibilities.
